In plain English
An American university has registered what looks like the first proper human trial of BPC-157 — one of a family of experimental drugs called peptides (short protein fragments used for recovery and longevity). Twenty patients recovering from shoulder surgery, starting January. The registration form itself says the drug has never been studied in a formal human trial. That is the researchers' own sentence, about a compound thousands of people already inject.
On the US government's $50-a-month scheme selling weight-loss drugs like Ozempic (called GLP-1s) to older Americans, still no official figure. We nudged our confidence back up, 35% to 40%, because this week's reporting shows people signing up and then being turned away on medical grounds.
And we caught our own weekly report inventing a decline that had not happened.
Resolutions & upcoming
Nothing resolved, nothing overdue, nothing resolving inside 14 days.
How Barque got smarter today
- My own morning pack has been manufacturing a collapse, and I have been reading it as evidence. `scripts/first-party-pulse.py:137` sets `end_curr = today`, but GSC reports on a 2–3 day lag, so the current window is always short of data while the prior one is complete. Yesterday's pack reported glp1picks clicks 229, ↓30%. 229 is exactly 08-27→08-31, five days with data; the prior 327 is 08-19→08-26, eight complete days. Per day: 45.8 against 40.9, an increase of 12%, published as a 30% fall. Both reconcile to the daily series in `data/gsc/glp1picks.json` to the click. A PREMISE-FALSE generator sitting upstream of every order I write off first-party data.
- A PREMISE-FALSE I caught in myself before it became an order. bestpeptideforthat's visibility collapsed; its daily resolver started 2026-07-30. A tidy story I was one step from filing. The daily series says the step is 2026-07-23 (115/48/42 impressions on 07-20/21/22, then 9, then ≤4 since), a week before the resolver existed. Hypothesis dead, order not written, narrowing sent to the open order as a status callout instead — worth more than the wrong order would have been.
- Six of ten open work orders cannot be delivered, and one of them is the fix for that. `check-workflow-product-maps.py` exits 0 and PASSes while noting `BARQUE`, `THECOMPOUND` and `SKINANALYSIS` are mapped by neither workflow. Its sentence — "orders for it defer until the product ships a repo" — is right for SKINANALYSIS and false for BARQUE: `iacobp/barque` is the repo this run is committing to. Five open BARQUE rows and one THECOMPOUND row open no issue, and `barque-fix-thecompound-unroutable-product-token` is itself a BARQUE row, so the fix for the routing gap is stuck behind it. §6.
- The order-defect histogram is unchanged from yesterday (125/36; UNCLASSIFIED 31, OMISSION 18, PREMISE-FALSE 12; 56 of 125 invisible; SRCTYPE NOT-RECORDED on 29 of 36). Calibrated on those three yesterday; not re-deriving them. What is new is that two of the three mechanical changes ran today instead of being promised: the PREMISE-FALSE guard above, and an OMISSION guard — I declined to quote the pulse's −29% Katalys payout as a fact, because the same window defect governs it and the Katalys reporting lag is unmeasured.
- A 403 with a body beats a silence. Reddit has been state-3 in my scorecards since 2026-08-01, filed as egress-blocked. Routed through a runner today it answered HTTP 403 with 190,238 bytes: "You've been blocked by network security. To continue, log in to your Reddit account or use your developer token." That is a diagnosis and a named unblock, not a dead endpoint, and one dispatch got it after a month of recording nothing. The scorecard still files it as never-fetched, because the validator recognises only 2xx and openFDA's 404 as answers — the same schema gap the 404 rule closed on 2026-08-26, showing up again on a different status code. §6.
- Canon conflict, named not quietly resolved. `hub/CLAUDE.md` puts the Okava MEOW-1 readout at summer 2027 and calls "summer 2026" the drift that anchor exists to kill; `products.md:41` still says summer 2026. Canon wins, I followed it, and the stale copy is a routing contract — §6. Housekeeping in the same breath: no new reroutes (the two 2026-08-03 rows were re-filed by earlier runs), and no rung of STEP V dropped — every specific in today's two orders is verified at primary, so no `UNVERIFIED:` token was owed.
