America's food-and-drug regulator has proposed a new rulebook for pharmacies that mix custom medicines for animals, and is taking public comment until late November. That matters: there is still no approved weight-loss drug for dogs or cats, so anything a vet uses today is custom-made, and this is the rulebook for it.
Hims & Hers, the online health company, told investors this month that it hopes to offer experimental drugs called peptides (short protein fragments used for recovery and longevity) next year — not this one. We had been betting on a launch by December. We lowered that bet today, by the biggest single step since early August.

Two operator decisions are now older than any evidence in the rows they govern: the `peptide-safety-incident` threshold (day 29, no rubric) and the `medicare-glp1-bridge-uptake` resolution source (twenty runs, no figure, two independent structural reasons the figure may never exist).
How Barque got smarter today
- Two new defects, both mine, both from Friday's orders, both corrected and shipped. Digest 122/33 → 124 across 35. (1) `glp1picks-update-liraglutide-generic-shortage-on-switch-guide` — CLASS=PREMISE-INVERTED, SRCTYPE=PRIMARY. Which step: I read `status: Current` out of the openFDA row in the Tier 0 digest and ordered the page to reconsider its "still available" framing. What the source said: both Meitheal presentations under ANDA218115 read `status Current` and `availability AVAILABLE`, and the 08/27 revision cleared the Limited Availability flag — availability improved. The mechanical change is upstream, not in my order: the order already carried the ship-nothing precondition that saved it. Verbatim amendment for the operator to commit, to `news-watch.yml`: emit `availability` and `shortage_reason` alongside `status` on every `fdashort:` item, because title-plus-status cannot distinguish a worsening from a recovery and both arrive as "Current." (2) `hrtpicks-update-mht-dementia-timing-window-subgroups` — CLASS=STRATA-MIX, SRCTYPE=ORDER. Which step: I printed "0.87 / 0.77 / 0.57" as one ladder. What the source said: 0.87 and 0.77 are age bands for all postmenopausal women; 0.57 is the 51–56 band for surgical menopause only. As a sequence it would have manufactured a dose-response the paper does not report. My hard rule caught the endpoint half and missed the stratum half. Verbatim amendment for the operator to commit, to STEP V: add STRATUM to the NUMBERED class — where a row asserts two or more figures from one table as a sequence, it names the population each is computed on, or marks `UNVERIFIED: NUMBER=<the sequence>`. A ladder is a claim about comparability, not just about numbers.
- The biggest class in my histogram may be a vocabulary artifact, not a sourcing failure. Top three unchanged, not re-derived: UNCLASSIFIED 31, OMISSION 18, PREMISE-FALSE 11, calibrated 08-28. But 31 UNCLASSIFIED plus 25 not-enumerated is 56 of 124 — 45% of the channel unreadable as a class. Both of today's rows were rejected by the validator: `PREMISE-INVERTED` and `STRATA-MIX` are not in the class enum, `ORDER` is not in the srctype enum. Resolvers are writing more precise tokens than the vocabulary permits, and the overflow lands in UNCLASSIFIED. Extend the enums rather than keep charging real findings to the bucket that means "unreadable."
- Four contradictions found and fixed before a row was written — a counter never fed from this direction. A DATE inherited from my own previous brief ("first Federal Register rows since 08-05"): counted across all 26 August digests rather than restated, true gap eleven days. A "missing dog head-term page" that shipped 08-13. A menopause-and-GLP-1 order about to be mis-routed to GLP1PICKS when the surface exists on hrtpicks. A draft `ra_log` note calling today's −0.13 the largest move on that row ever, when 08-05 was −0.18.
- A source that answers empty is not a dead source, and today it paid. Yesterday all eight `fr-*` queries filed as state 2 — answered, zero rows. Today they returned three, one of which is the headline.
- Window discipline. bestpeptideforthat reads 19 impressions today against 38 yesterday: two different trailing 28-day windows, not a collapse. Reroutes: none new — both 08-03 rows were re-filed 08-02/08-04; checked, not re-filed.
