I

In plain English

The US health department asked drug makers on 18 June to rewrite the safety labels on testosterone products. Reuters and Bloomberg both reported it that day. We never covered it. So today we read what those labels actually say right now, from the government's own drug-label database: they still state that testosterone has not been shown to be safe or effective for men whose levels simply fall with age, and that the heart-risk evidence is unsettled.

Separately, Amazon's pharmacy has begun filling weight-loss prescriptions at $50 a month for older Americans on Medicare's new programme. That makes it far easier to start. But Medicare's own rules shut out anyone whose existing drug plan already covers these medicines, and that exclusion is larger than the convenience.

Signal detail

The move is not today's news but evidence gathered a week ago and never applied — see §4. On 2026-08-08 a work-order verified at CMS that the Bridge disqualifies beneficiaries who already receive GLP-1s under their Medicare drug coverage or are eligible for that coverage, cutting the denominator far below the 14M the original note assumed and making fewer than 1M more likely. Pushing back, and why the move is +0.07 not larger: Amazon Pharmacy has started filling $50 Bridge prescriptions (The Pharma Letter, 08-07), the National Council on Aging published a consumer explainer the same day, and Lilly markets the $50 access directly (08-12). Skeptic near 0.50 against the Bayesian's 0.62 — 0.12, widest of the run, short of the flag. CMS newsroom fetched clean, still no enrolment figure: day 45.

Held on purpose. Every Hims item today is the same Q2 call priced on 08-13 and 08-14 — AOL carrying the Reuters margin-squeeze story a day late, plus a plaintiff-firm "investigation" that fires on any drawdown and says nothing about a launch. Re-pricing a reprint is the drift `ra/program.md` exists to stop. At primary: EDGAR returns exactly the 10-Q, no 8-K; Federal Register carries no 503A bulks action, day 23.

Zero peptide partners for a 22nd consecutive pack; the one new entrant, bmiMD at $150, is a GLP-1 provider. The live risk has changed shape: Embody GLP1 alone is $3,150 of $3,649 payout, 86% on one partner — a denominator risk to this forecast, not a peptide-revenue one.

Both peptide taps returned zero items, the first fully quiet peptide day in this log's recent run. Augur. A GLP-1 ad fronted by Serena Williams ran at the Cincinnati Open. Weight-loss drugs have reached tournament sponsorship — a mainstreaming marker of the Kardashian-Met-Gala class.

Resolutions & upcoming

Nothing overdue. Next horizons are 2026-12-31 (three rows) and 2027-03-31.

One resolution blocked on a decision, not evidence — day 14. `peptide-safety-incident` may have resolved TRUE on 2026-06-18 via the NYT black-market feature. Nobody wrote down whether a market-and-danger piece about a peptide sold as a weight-loss drug clears "injuries, contamination, or deaths." A forecast pinned at ceiling for a fortnight while its resolution is undecidable is a calibration-record problem. Two operator calls: does this piece meet the bar, and what is the bar.

How Barque got smarter today

  • The expensive one, and it is mine. A specific verified for a work-order never reached the forecast it bore on: the Bridge carve-out was read at CMS on 08-08 and shipped into a page, while the forecast held 0.55 for seven more days. Mechanical change, not an intention: when a work-order row carries a `VERIFIED:` specific touching a pending forecast's denominator, population or resolution source, that run's §2 must state the forecast implication or say there is none. It is the whole of today's +0.07.
  • A brief-documented query shape silently returned nothing. STEP V's own Tier-1 example passes `conditions[term]=` unencoded; curl reads `[...]` as a glob range and exits 3 with HTTP 000 and a zero-byte body — state 3 wearing the face of a quiet day. Percent-encoded, the retry returned 200, count 5. Verbatim amendment for the operator to commit, STEP V Tier 1: "Percent-encode square brackets in Federal Register API URLs — `conditions%5Bterm%5D=`, `conditions%5Bpublication_date%5D%5Bgte%5D=`. Unencoded brackets make curl exit 3 with HTTP 000, which is NOT_FETCHED, not an empty result."
  • Two hosts newly runner-blocked, both now in fda.gov's class: hhs.gov 403s at Akamai and www.sec.gov/Archives 403s as an "Undeclared Automated Tool", while efts.sec.gov answers 200 — so EDGAR tells you whether a filing exists, not what it says. Both cost a verification today.
  • ORDER-DEFECT: 1 row, calibrated in the 2026-08-05 brief — `bestpeptideforthat-update-precision-peptide-legitscript-path`, CLASS `DATE,LEGAL,ATTRIBUTION,ENTITY`, SRCTYPE PRESS-RELEASE, closing 08-18. Today it bought a refusal rather than a restated intention: Zoetis's "12-plus blockbusters targeting pet obesity" is trade press about a company's own earnings call, the 8-K exhibit that would settle it 403'd, and no GLP1PETS row was written on an unverifiable count. REROUTE: 2 rows, both re-filed 08-04, none new. STEP V rung dropped: none — 0 of 10 WebSearches spent, dated Google News RSS on the runner having replaced Tier-2 routing outright.
