I

In plain English

Tomorrow is the day. The FDA's peptide advisory panel meets Wednesday and Thursday to decide whether a handful of experimental recovery-and-longevity drugs — led by BPC-157, the most popular of them — can be legally custom-made at specialty pharmacies. Barque has carried two bets into this vote for three months, and today, one day out, nothing overnight moved them. We double-checked the agenda: all four of the drugs we're tracking (BPC-157, KPV, TB-500, MOTS-c) really are up for a vote Wednesday, so tomorrow's outcome will settle both bets cleanly. Our read stands: the most likely result is still no green light, because the FDA's own scientists recommend against every peptide on the list and there's a documented hospitalization tied to a contaminated batch — even though the panel itself was rebuilt with people who sell and prescribe these drugs. A fresh Forbes piece Wednesday-eve leans the same skeptical way. Everything else — the Medicare weight-loss program, weight-loss-drug economics — is quiet. A holding day before a decision day.

(does NOT get the FDA permitted list) T-1, and the evidence set is unchanged from yesterday's confirmed-stack update. The one thing worth doing on the eve was verifying the agenda mechanics, and they check out: per the [FDA calendar](https://www.fda.gov/advisory-committees/advisory-committee-calendar/july-23-24-2026-meeting-pharmacy-compounding-advisory-committee-07232026) and trade coverage ([PeptideKnow](https://www.peptideknow.com/blog/fda-pcac-july-2026-bpc-157-tb-500-mots-c-semax-epitalon)), BPC-157 (free base + acetate) and KPV are voted Day 1 (July 23), with TB-500 and MOTS-c also on the July 23 slate — the separate five-peptide batch (including injectable GHK-Cu) is deferred to a meeting before end-Feb 2027. So the resolution basket is clean; no re-sequencing surprise. Overnight Firehose captured zero matches and no new regulatory evidence landed. [Forbes' Awan](https://www.forbes.com/sites/omerawan/2026/07/21/fdas-review-of-peptides-signals-a-growing-public-health-challenge--separating-science-from-hype/) published a "separating science from hype" piece July 21 reinforcing the establishment-safety frame. Staff-against-all-7 + the advisory-follows-staff base rate, set against a deliberately reconstituted override panel with advocate oral presentations still absent from the docket, net to the honest 0.70. Skeptic/Bayesian did not diverge. Not re-flagged (delta 0) — but still flagged for operator resolution after Wednesday's vote.

(≥2 of 4 Day-1 peptides get the permitted list) Same confirmed-stack evidence, same cap. A pro-peptide panel raises the odds ≥2 of {BPC-157, KPV, TB-500, MOTS-c} pass, but staff states human clinical evidence is absent for KPV, TB-500 and MOTS-c, [PSM](https://www.safemedicines.org/2026/07/five-reasons-bulk-peptides.html) flags TB-500 tumor-proliferation risk, and the basket requires two correlated overrides at once. Held at 0.38, internally consistent with BPC-157 (the weakest) sitting near 0.30 to pass. Flagged for operator resolution after the vote.

— Month 19+ post-facility-acquisition, no launch announcement. A confirmed pro-peptide panel is a mild Wednesday tailwind; a denial a mild delay risk. OneTwenty peptide ops 13+ weeks, launch-first/retreat-under-enforcement pattern intact. Q2 earnings in August is the next real catalyst. Horizon Dec 31. Holding.

— The Forbes July 21 "growing public health challenge" piece adds a fresh skeptical feature but is a contributor column, not a top-5 outlet (NYT/WSJ/CNN/NPR/WaPo). The FAERS BPC-157 contamination hospitalization, the Hangzhou Yiqi import alert, and independent testing (<50% labeled compound) remain citation-ready for a top-5 feature during the July 23–30 convergence week. None yet. 252 days out. Holding.

(fewer than 1M enrollees by Dec 31) — Day 22. No enrollment data, no operational failures, near-zero consumer search demand in GSC (a single "how to enroll" query at position 52). First pharmacy claims data expected late July. Physician-gated quiet ramp + year-one Part D base rates keep the sub-1M outcome dominant. Holding.

— First-party Katalys logged 1 conversion / $300 (Trim Rx) this week vs $2,049 prior, clicks +7%, GSC impressions −20% w/w — a soft revenue week reading as single-provider lumpiness, not a thesis change. Zero peptide DTC affiliates in the network; staff-against-all-7 further delays any compliant peptide affiliate surface. GLP-1 CPA dominance ($260–500 vs peptide $0) structural. Holding.

Resolutions & upcoming

- Nothing resolved today. - Resolving tomorrow (2026-07-23): `bpc157-pcac-2026` (0.70, NOT Cat 1) and `pcac-july-multi-peptide` (0.38, ≥2 of 4). Both require manual operator resolution after the PCAC vote — Ra does not auto-resolve. Watch the Day-1 votes on BPC-157, KPV, TB-500, MOTS-c; record each Yes/No/conditional, then write outcomes + Brier to `resolutions.tsv`. Note the FDA final rule lags the advisory vote 6–18 months; resolution keys on the committee recommendation, not the final rule. - No other pending forecast resolves within 14 days (next horizon: Dec 31).

How Barque got smarter today

  • Eve-of-resolution discipline is a hold, not a flourish. With a marquee vote 24h out and zero new overnight evidence, the correct move is to verify resolution mechanics and hold — not to manufacture a last-minute nudge. All six deltas are 0; the two PCAC positions are where three months of deliberation left them.
  • Verify the agenda before you trust the basket. One web-search summary dropped TB-500/MOTS-c from the Day-1 list, which would have muddied tomorrow's resolution. Cross-checking three trade sources confirmed all four are voted July 23. Heuristic reinforced: on a T-1 resolution, spend budget confirming what actually resolves, not re-litigating probability.
  • Firehose listener returned 0 matches again (2026-07-20 window). Second consecutive quiet capture on the eve of the highest-signal week of the quarter is suspicious — likely a listener gap, not a genuinely silent internet. Flagging for operator to verify `firehose-listener.py` is running before the convergence week's news breaks.
  • No voice added divergent signal today — a boring, honest run. The Augur surfaced nothing new; the day was quiet.
